Assuming 3 months including AWS, Annual Income including employee CPF : $50,625
If you are drawing annual income in the range of $100,000, do you still consider yourself "Middle Income" ?

Hello, i Came across this post but found the numbers not very realistic.
ReplyDelete"Gross Monthly Income From Work" seem to be $8966 according to:
http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/median-monthly-income-for-employed-singapore-households-grew-by-49-in-2015
Please help enlighten thanks!
Is from MOM for a single working person. Your link is for a single household.
DeleteSo single household income is assuming 2 working adults?
ReplyDeleteThen average income is about 4500 per head?
Well it says " Median monthly household income "... so is median.
Delete1. according to statistics, Singapore household has 2.3 adult on average.(rough number)
ReplyDelete2. The gross income include OT, bonus, employee CPF and employer CPF.
Yes I believe the gross includes all you have mentioned. Another interesting measure is "Mode" instead of "Median" but we have no data of it. It will would interesting to see how the actual gross income distribution curve of singapore looks like.
Deleteyou are middle income if your money runs out at the middle of the month.
ReplyDeleteif 24/7 you have money in your pocket you are upper middle class.
That's negative monthly. Unless you have huge saving or asset, matter of time you will go bankrupt.
